Evelyn and Ron Nelson love to build things. Ron has done software development and engineering for longer than he wants to admit. While Evelyn is the interesting one: Master in Product Development, worked at the Arecibo Radio Telescope, and Optical Engineering at a Fortune 500 company.
A couple of years ago, shortly after moving from Chicago to Austin (with Puerto Rico in between), both decided that they wanted to make more tangible and fun things. In 2008, with the re-birth of urban farming, they designed and started manufacturing urban chicken coops. While that was fun, they wanted something that would appeal to a wider audience. And so, Pixzle was born.
Pixzle has been about two years in the making. First, the idea. Then gestation. Finally, with the right tools, they were able to realize their vision and produce a product that both were proud of.
The Pixzle is designed, manufactured, and assembled in Copperas Cove, Texas. Wherever possible, we source materials from local suppliers. The acrylic and tools used to cut the Pixzle are manufactured in the USA by people like you. Thank you for supporting US based manufacturing!
